Jason M. Jenkins

Jason current serves as Treasurer of the Memorial Service. He began his EMS career in 1995, with an EMT certification received from Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kansas. He graduated from Coffeyville Community College in 1997 with his emergency medicine degree. Jason worked as an EMT in Liberal, Kansas and was hired upon completion of his paramedic program as a paramedic. Jason became a Captain at EMS in Liberal working there for 7 years. He was a college instructor at Seward County Community College, teaching in the Allied Health division. Jason worked for EagleMed as a Flight Paramedic upon helicopters and fixed wing aircraft, flying out of the Dodge City and Wichita base. Later he went to work for the State of Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services as an Inspector. His responsibilities were inspecting all ambulance services in the state for regulatory and statutory compliance. He comes to Miami County EMS from Topeka, Kansas where he was a Major for EMS in Shawnee, Osage, and Wabaunsee counties in Kansas. Responsible for the operations division, of the third largest ambulance service in the state, Jason had three Captains, five Lieutenants, and a staff of approximately 65 paramedics and EMTs.

Today, Jason is the Chief of Miami County Emergency Medical Services in Paola, Kansas. Miami County is a suburb of Kansas City that has thirty-four employees, an annual response of 2,700 calls per year, and a budget of 2.4 million dollars. Jason has a Bachelor's Degree in Management and Human Relations and graduated in November 2011 with his Master of Arts Degree in leadership.

Jenkins was born and raised in Liberal, Kansas graduating from Liberal High School in 1994. His family was among the earliest settlers of Seward County, which is where his family lives.

Jason is the Vice-President of Region V EMS in the state of Kansas, serves on the board of directors for Leadership Miami County, and is a member of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas.
