Tawnya Silloway
Tawnya started her EMS career in a small town on the Western Slope of Colorado. She was a volunteer/on-call EMT for Gunnison Valley Hospital Ambulance, as well as serving on the Western State College Mountain Rescue Team.
She moved to Colorado Springs in 1990 to teach middle school and soon realized she enjoyed EMS more than teaching. She was hired with A-1 Paramedics which became American Medical Response in 1994. After 14 years working on an ambulance serving as an EMT, driving instructor, EMT field training officer, and founding member of the employee steering committee, Tawnya joined the Community Relations Department. It is her goal to introduce as many young people as possible to EMS, through career fairs and ambulance "show and tell" and to promote her EMS co-workers and emergency medical services.
