NEMSMS Honoree Gentry Randall Blevins

"He was very good to respond to calls, and he was good to his neighbors," stated Harry Sullivan, president of the Helton Township, Incorporated Ambulance Service.

Randy Blevins was a medical responder for Helton Unit and was scheduled to take the Emergency Medical Service certification test in two weeks. He had been a responder for one and one-half years. "He already had all the training," Sullivan said.

Blevins was responding to a chest pain call when he was involved in an accident on Fees Branch Road in Lansing, North Carolina. Randy died of chest injuries as a result of the wreck on March 29, 1999.

Randall Blevins, is survived by his mother, Orba Blevins. He was 46 years old.
