Charles A. McNeely
Walden Volunteer Ambulance Corps Walden, New York |
|---|
The Mayor of Walden declared a week of public mourning and ordered all flags to be flown at half mast on the death of Charles McNeely, a volunteer ambulance driver. He stated that Charlie was "always available" as he worked with the ambulance corps and the Fearless Hook and Ladder Fire Company.
A resolution by the Town Board of the Town of Montgomery recognized Charlie's seventeen years of service, which included ten years as captain of the corps.
The ambulance driven by Charlie turned over after it was hit by a driver running a stop sign. Charlie died on June 27, 1987, as a result of injuries received in the accident. He was 55 years old.
